Four Additional Front-end Views/Pages

The People Administration upgrade adds four additional front-end views/pages on your event website. Each view helps you showcase your people and communicate with your audience.

Note: the layout and styling of the front-end display is dependent on the theme you choose. This image is shown with the Eighties theme.

Event Details Page The event details page groups the types of people together with each profile as a separate list item. In this case you see the two Speaker and Sponsor Types. Each individual People profile is shown with the profile name linked to the individual profile page and the short excerpt.

Front-end People Page  The front-end People page displays the full profile for a single person. This page tells your audience more about this person/organization/role. The single page can display the profile name, publish date, description, contact information, and what event they are involved with and how they are participating. You can also control whether your audience can interact with this person by commenting on the page.

People Type Archive PageEach People Type (e.g. Speaker, Sponsor, Friends, Donors, etc.) is given an archive page so you can see all people that are currently assigned as that type. In this case we’re looking at all the People that have been assigned as Speakers for our events. This People type archive view can be powerful for an organization to showcase their list of people and organizations and how they are involved.

People Category Archive PageEach People category is given an archive page so your audience can view people by category. If you have contributors or organizations in the same category you can show them all at once. For example, categories of: women, men, lawyers, doctors, executives, etc. can make it easier for your audience to find and learn more about those who will be involved with your events.

The People Admin Pages:

The People Administration upgrade makes several admin pages available to add/edit/manage your People.

People List TableThe People Edit screen allows you to configure or edit a new profile. In this case, Sandra Chen is a Speaker and a Sponsor Type, and categorized under Management, Marketing, Technology, and Women. You can give the People profile a name, description, excerpt, image, make notes, manage the discussion settings, add contact information and much more.

Add/Edit People ProfilePeople Types can be organized by any name you create (e.g. staff, volunteer, speaker, sponsor, vendors, delegates, artists, etc.). You can create whatever type of profile you want, it doesn’t have to be named People.

People Types List TableEach Type of people can be given a name, ID, nested under another type of person and a description.

Add/Edit People TypesYou can also organize them by any category (e.g. man, woman, technology, management, etc.).

People Categories List TableAs with the People types, you can add a name, unique ID, hierarchical relationship and a description to communicate with your audience.

Add/Edit People CategoriesThis control over your people profiles provides a lot of flexibility to adapt to your events and communicate to your organization and audience.

Arrange People (in the Event Editor)New widgets in the event editor allow you to to arrange each Type of People differently if you like. You can manually arrange one person ahead of another if you wish.

You can spend the time to make your people and organizations look good once, and get the benefit of reusing that organized information time and again. If your people are an attraction for your events, you can highlight the people as being part of your event, the events that each person is involved with and where your audience can see them.
